2025 winner of the German Jazz Prize

2025 winner of the German Jazz Prize

I am very grateful and honored to have won the 2025 German Jazz Prize in the woodwinds category. It means a lot to me to receive this sign of recognition in the country I grew up in! A huge congrats to the other brilliant winners and nominees too. Being a musicians is hard work and we can’t exist without the support, collaboration, and deep connection to others. In that spirit, I want to thank everyone who has been on my team over the decades. It takes a village to make it work, and I appreciate you all!

Purposing The Air out on Pyroclastic Records!

Purposing The Air out on Pyroclastic Records!

My double album Purposing The Air with 60 songs based on Erica Hunt's poem "Mood Librarian - a poem in koan" is now out on Pyroclastic Records. The music features Fay Victor, Mariel Roberts, Sara Serpa, Matt Mitchell, Theo Bleckmann, Ben Monder, Rachel Calloway and Ari Streisfeld. Making this record has been a total labor of love over the past 3+ years, made possible by a grant from The Shifting Foundation.
If you'd like to support the label or artists, please purchase the album on Bandcamp

"This is an ‘essential’ album, one that should not be filed away in your record collection but rather placed among your books, for it is pure intellectual nourishment, a profoundly fascinating experience." Paris Moves
"Impressive" - Mike Shanley/Jazz Times
"Purposing The Air" is a recording of extreme quality."  Thierry de Clemensat/All About Jazz
